A Story of Craftsmanship

A Story of Craftsmanship

When Joanne, the owner of Eastern Art & Frame, came to Bloom, she had decades of experience in framing and restoration, but her online presence and branding didn’t fully reflect the depth and quality of her work. She wanted a refined, elevated look—one that stayed true to the Art Nouveau charm of her Providence shop while also signaling to potential clients that she was more than capable of handling large-scale projects.

Honoring Tradition with a Fresh Perspective

Joanne’s shop has a rich history, and she wanted to maintain the classic feel her customers knew and loved. During our initial meetings, we spent time in her shop, getting to know her and her team, observing the craftsmanship that went into each frame, and understanding the personal touch she brings to every client interaction. It was clear that her business wasn’t just about framing—it was about preserving stories, artistry, and memories.

A Brand Inspired by Art & Architecture

Taking inspiration from the Art Nouveau details on her storefront and her existing signage (which she wanted to keep—we agreed, it’s iconic!), we refreshed her branding while staying true to its roots. We refined her logo with an updated typeface that honored the era’s artistic elegance while ensuring clarity and modern usability.

For her color palette, we pulled from the rich hues found in her shop and the timeless frames she works with—deep blacks, warm golds, crisp whites, and soft yellows. These colors, popular in the Art Nouveau period, brought a sense of heritage and sophistication to her new branding.

Photography That Showcases Craftsmanship

To fully capture the essence of Eastern Art & Frame, we conducted two photoshoots. The first focused on Joanne and her lead framer, Will, giving their website and social media a personal touch with professional portraits that conveyed warmth and expertise. The second shoot documented the framing process, highlighting their meticulous craftsmanship, the shop’s character, and finished pieces in styled settings. We also created digital mockups of framed work in homes, museums, and galleries to show potential clients the range of framing possibilities. The new photography elevated their online presence, giving the brand a polished, high-end feel while still feeling personal and approachable.

A Website That Tells the Full Story

Once the branding and imagery were in place, we turned to her website—her old site didn’t capture the full scope of what Eastern Art & Frame offered. We needed to ensure that visitors immediately understood the craftsmanship, variety of framing options, and the personalized service Joanne is known for.

  • A Personal Touch on the Homepage: We placed large, welcoming portraits of Joanne and Will front and center, allowing visitors to connect with the people behind the craft. Their genuine warmth and expertise shine through, reinforcing trust from the moment someone lands on the site.
  • Clear Service Offerings: We outlined every service Joanne offers, including specialty and lesser-known options, ensuring potential clients understood the full range of what Eastern Art & Frame could do.
  • SEO & Local Visibility: We optimized the site for local searches, making it easier for nearby clients to find her when searching for framing services.
  • Customer Reviews & Testimonials: Since word-of-mouth and reputation are key in her industry, we highlighted glowing reviews from long-time clients, reinforcing the exceptional customer service and craftsmanship Eastern Art & Frame is known for.
  • Intuitive Navigation: We streamlined the site’s structure with dedicated sections for their story, services, portfolio, and an easy-to-use contact page for inquiries. Throughout, we included clear calls to action, making it effortless for visitors to reach out.

A Social Media Guide for DIY Marketing

Beyond the website and branding, we created a social media brand guide to help Joanne and her team maintain a consistent and professional presence online. The guide included:

  • Content Pillars: Suggested themes for posts, from behind-the-scenes craftsmanship to customer spotlights.
  • Caption & Hashtag Strategy: Best practices for writing engaging captions and selecting relevant hashtags to increase visibility.
  • Posting Schedule: A framework for how often to post and what type of content to share each week.
  • Visual Consistency: Guidelines for photo editing, graphics, and maintaining an aesthetic that aligns with the new branding.

With this DIY-friendly guide, Joanne’s team now has a clear roadmap for growing their online presence while keeping their marketing efforts manageable.

Elevating a Legacy Business for the Future

With a refreshed brand identity, stunning photography, a more engaging website, and an enhanced online presence, Eastern Art & Frame now reflects the craftsmanship and expertise that Joanne has built over decades.
